The Manville Youth Athletic League (M.Y.A.L) was originated in 1960 with a volunteer membership of approximately fifteen people. Some of these volunteers did not even have children involved in the sports programs, they just wanted have an athletic club for the children of Manville. The first MYAL Clubhouse was located in the Lost Valley section of Manville until 1967, where the current baseball fields are today. With the help of those original 15 members, and the former Johns-Manville Corporation donating all the building materials, the current clubhouse was built on Johns-Manville property, now known as Gerber Field.
