“Last year there were more than 3 million reports of identity theft and fraud,” said Commissioner Melonie Marano, Public Works liaison. “Identity theft can potentially cost victims thousands of dollars, and hours of time spent repairing their credit. Operation Secure Shred is a free and valuable service that can help protect residents from being a victim of this type of crime.”
