[ARCHIVED] FALL HAS ARRIVED & IT’S LEAF SEASON – PUBLIC WORKS LEAF COLLECTION POLICY

FALL HAS ARRIVED & IT’S LEAF SEASON – PUBLIC WORKS LEAF COLLECTION POLICY

Leaf vacuuming should begin the end of October and continue through mid-December. This service is dependent on weather conditions and the volume of fallen leaves.

During leaf vacuuming season, leaves can be placed loose curbside. Loose leaves must be kept at least ten (10) feet away from any storm water catch basin. Piles of leaves are to be free of garden debris, branches and grass clippings. Loose leaves will not be picked up if they contain these items.

Each section of town will be done at least once per week.

Residents having a small amount of leaves are encouraged to put them in open containers or biodegradable paper bags.

Bagged leaves, in biodegradable paper bags or containers, will be collected curbside on yard waste pick up days October 23rd and November 6th. Special pick up days for bagged leaves only will be collected curbside on November 27th, December 4th and December 11th.

Should the weather become inclement, please contact the Department of Public Works for the status of leaf collection.
