[ARCHIVED] Fall Has Arrived & It’s Leaf Season – Following is the Service Provided by the Public Works Dept

Based on the volume of fallen leaves, leaf vacuuming should begin late-October and end mid-December.

Once leaf vacuuming begins, residents can place loose leaves to the curb for vacuuming per these guidelines. Loose leaves must be kept at least ten feet away from any storm water catch basin. Piles of leaves must be free of garden debris, branches and grass clippings. Leaf vacuuming will continue on a weekly basis throughout each section of the borough ending mid-December. Should you have a small amount of leaves, please place them in a container or biodegradable bag for pick up on yard waste day or bagged leaf pick up dates.

Leaves in biodegradable bags or containers will be picked up on November 22nd, November 29th, and December 6th. Bagged leaves will also be accepted on yard waste pick up dates of October 18th and November 15th. As a reminder, leaves in bags or containers should not exceed 35 pounds in weight each. Also leaves in plastic bags cannot be accepted.

If the weather becomes inclement, please check with the Department of Public Works for the status of the leaf pick up service. Thanking residents in advance for working together to make and keep our community clean.
