Arbor Day Celebration

Join the Board of Shade Tree Commissioners on Friday, April 28th beginning at noon at the Manville Library for Manville's first ever Arbor Day Celebration.

Arbor Day is an annual observance that celebrates the role of trees in our lives and promotes tree planting and care.  Arbor Day in New Jersey is celebrated annually on the last Friday in April.  This date provides an excellent opportunity to acknowledge the importance of city trees --  not only for shade and beauty -- but their capacity to absorb water and filter storm water run-off.

The Shade Tree Commission has arranged a brief ceremony starting at noon, followed by refreshments.  Guests will enjoy demonstrations by the ABIS Environmental Club and leave with a giveaway to commemorate this family-friendly event.
